Time to get back to spin class!
You may have thought your sexy romps were great for burning a good amount of calories. Well, think again. According to a new study in the New England Journal of Medicine, the average bedroom sexual encounter burns about 21 calories and lasts just 6 minutes.
Dr. Krista Casazza explains, “[Sex] might feel similar to a workout — heart rate increases, and you may sweat and feel fatigue afterward — but you’re only expending about as much energy as you would while walking a quarter of a mile.”
Moral of this story: keep your gym membership for burning calories and losing fat, and keep the bedroom for excitement and fun!
